Friends,

Those of you who are working with us on your year-end fundraising know that your jobs will largely be done by next week (if they're not done already). All those snail mail letters, email campaigns, social media, beautifully unified without you having to lift a finger except to say yea or nay. Which means you get to focus on the holidays, and personal conversations with the people who matter most to you (including your biggest donors), rather than on stressing out. It's been such a pleasure working with you to tell the story of your year.

What we've been up to:

It was a pleasure to attend the John Jay Institute's 10th anniversary gala earlier this month, and sit in the audience with (it turned out) three other clients! We love watching our clients thrive.

In addition to welcoming numerous new clients (I've introduced a few below), I and a few friends have been working on a technology solution to make your lives easier. We got tired of your CRMs either requiring a Ph.D. or not having all the features nonprofits need, and we got tired of you having to work so hard just to tease out important information about your donors. So we're building a tool that will bring that info straight to you, with no fuss and no work. More to follow in the new year!

One last challenge for you this year

Given your goals for next year, what do you wish you could achieve that you think isn't possible right now? What is just barely out of your reach? Think about it. Then talk to me about it. It never hurts to inquire!

Cheers,

Brian

Tuskegee Next in Chicago builds on the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen, providing a clear path to aviation careers for at-risk youth. They're looking to change lives and solve a major looming problem (a shortage of airline pilots) in one stroke! You can see our logo design for them above; over the next week you can see their new website and branding, and follow the year-end marketing campaign we've designed for them.

The Center for Being Known in Virginia is a new organization that seeks to help people explore the integral relationship between deep, meaningful connections with God and others–being known–and the development of healthier minds, healthier communities and ultimately, a healthier world. We're excited to help founder Curt Thompson address so directly the isolation that is hurting today's world, through strategy, tech infrastructure, and full communications management.

I've enjoyed getting to know the leaders of the Hildebrand Project over the last year or two, and am excited to finally get to work with them. Hildebrand is the world’s leading organization dedicated to the presentation and exploration of the thought and witness of ardent foe of Nazism Dietrich von Hildebrand. We're working with their excellent team to build the technology infrastructure that will allow them to grow significantly in achieving their goals without expanding their staff.

Strong Towns has held a special place in my heart since its inception a few years back, because it seeks to help developers and city leaders build places worth caring about--with the most practical of advice and much-needed challenges to the status quo. It's a pleasure to get to do some design work for them!
